VOLUNTEER
Your time is very important to us and we appreciate that you would like to spend it by helping the SPCA animals in various ways!
We value your time and would like to see it spent well. If you have any specific areas or an area of expertise which you would like to assist with we want to empower you to do so, but first we have some steps that need to be followed before you are a fully enrolled volunteer!
Step 1: Make sure you meet the basic requirements! Animal lover? Willing to work hard? Willing to learn? Over 14 years of age? If you answered yes to all of those things then sign-up for one of our mandatory Volunteer Orientations that are usually held on a monthly basis!

Should you be under 14 years of age, but above 7 years of age, your parents have to attend the Volunteer Orientation as well and accompany you at all times whilst at the SPCA.
Step 2: Attend a Volunteer Orientation, sign a Volunteer Indemnity form, and follow the rules and guidelines of the SPCA.
Step 3: Make arrangements to come and volunteer. We will assign you to help with various tasks, or if you are looking to help with a specific volunteer position we will make a plan together.
We always need responsible and self-motivated volunteers to help. Whether you just want to play with our cats or walk a few dogs it provides crucial socialisation and enrichment to the animals. We have volunteer positions ranging from hands-on work with the animals and administrative work to coordinator positions in various areas. We want to make sure that your volunteer position best fits you!
Please take time and donate your time, even if it is once or twice a week. Every bit helps!
